Asclepias Exaltata - Poke Milkweed

One of the few milkweeds that tolerates shade, making it a rare and valuable option for gardeners with wooded or partly shaded sites who still want to support monarchs. Like all milkweeds, it's a required host plant for monarch caterpillars. Its umbels of white-to-pink flowers hang and weep downward in a loose, almost fireworks-like display, giving it ornamental interest beyond its ecological role.
