Named for its distinctly angled, zigzagging stems, this woodland goldenrod thrives in partial to full shade, a rare trait among goldenrods, most of which need sun. Yellow flowers cluster along the stem in late summer into fall, offering the same late-season pollinator and songbird value as other goldenrods, but suited to the shadier corners of a garden where few other fall bloomers perform.
